Mehmet AÇIKGÖZ

He was born in 1963 in Antakya-Hatay. After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops, he completed his master's degree in the same department.


He worked as an expert at the Agricultural Coordination and Social Projects Group of Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) Regional Directorate between 1992-1995,


Manager of the Agriculture, Coordination and Social Projects Group between 1995-2001,


Deputy Regional Director as well as the Director of Social and Economic Development Group between 2001-2008,


Between January 2008-November 2013 he served as the Regional Director of the same institution and since November 2013 he has been working as the Vice President of the GAP Regional Development Administration.


As of January 16th, 2020, he has been appointed as the Deputy President of GAP Regional Development Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Technology.


He took part in large and small scale planning of GAP and made an active contribution especially to the Regional Development Plan and GAP Action Plan.


He has nearly 30 years of project management and implementation experience in regional development, entrepreneurship, clustering, branding, preparation of competition agendas, implementation of social action plans, strengthening of social infrastructure, development of suitable models for the region, implementation of Tourism Master Plan and sub-projects, agriculture and rural development studies including international projects in the GAP region.


Mr. Açıkgöz has many presentations and notices about the fields he works in many conferences, workshops and symposiums.
