
GAP Regional Development Administration has carried out innovative model projects by ensuring effective and efficient use of resources in order to raise the quality of life for the region and minimize the development gap with the understanding of sustainable and fair development in regional development with the mission and vision it has undertaken for more than 35 years. It continues its qualified studies in this direction. With this mission, the Administration has been a source of inspiration for both national and international regional development programs.
In this context, since the early 1990s, research, planning, project design and implementations have been carried out for the socio-economic development of the region; studies have been carried out to contribute to the formation of a culture for cooperation between the public, non-governmental organizations, universities and the private sector; and projects have been carried out with the financial support of national and international grant-making organizations and private sector organizations.
The GAP Administration implements inclusive, innovative and model projects in many fields ranging from agriculture to rural development, from renewable energy to tourism, from industry to strengthening the social structure, aiming to meet the needs of the people quickly and efficiently, improve service quality, increase community satisfaction and transform the region's values into value-added products.
With the new GAP Action Plan, the vision of “a GAP Region that ensures efficiency in resource utilization through smart agriculture and irrigation practices, where tourism and industry develop with an integrated and sustainable development approach” has been put forward. Within the framework of this vision, Irrigation, Precision Transformation in Agriculture, GAP Integrated 2.0, Tourism Oriented Economic Growth, and Transformation Programs in Labor Intensive Industrial Sectors will be prepared and put into practice. The large-scale projects of the GAP Administration, public institutions and organizations envisaged to be implemented under these programs will make significant contributions to the economic-social development and transformation of the GAP Region.
