Achievements
Adıyaman Kahta AlmondWithin the scope of the Integrated Rural Development Program, efforts were made to expand almond production thanks to the demonstration areas established in cooperation with the GAP Regional Development Administration and Kahta District Governorship, and Kahta Nut Producers Association was established. As a result, Kahta ranked first in almond production in Turkey.
Kilis Grape

Within the scope of the Agricultural Infrastructure Development Program implemented by the GAP Regional Development Administration in cooperation with Musabeyli District Governorship and Kilis Special Provincial Administration, the project focused on grape production, Kilis Province Grape Producers Association was established and the Grape Processing Facility was put into operation.


The project benefits 11,136 people in total and creates social and economic added value by providing employment opportunities for 25 to 50 people periodically. Thanks to the Kilis Province Molasses and Products Production Facility, which was realized with the support of Musabeyli District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, certified production techniques were transferred to farmers, and an average annual income of 60 to 100 million TL was achieved through the establishment.


In line with sustainable agriculture and production techniques, a patent and geographical indication registration was obtained for the Kilis Horoz Kara brand through innovative, technology-based, high value-added and employment-oriented production activities that aim to contribute to the development of the region.

Kilis Olive and Olive Oil

Within the framework of the GAP Organic Agriculture Clustering Program, the project, carried out in cooperation with the Governorship of Kilis, aimed to expand organic olive and olive oil production, and the Kilis Province Organic Olive Producers Association was established and an integrated olive oil production facility was put into operation.


In Kilis, 22,383 tons of olives are produced annually from more than 3.5 million fruit-bearing olive trees in an area of 310,704 decares and 30 people are permanently employed in the facility.


The women's cooperative established under the project produces organic olive oil with the Kilizi brand and exports 100-150 tons annually to the US, Singapore, Qatar and Netherlands.


Kilis Olive Oil has also taken an important step towards branding in the international market by obtaining a geographical indication registration.

Adıyaman Atmalı Local Products

Atmalı Local Products Women Entrepreneurs Cooperative was established and the Local Products Sales and Marketing Facility was put into operation within the scope of the “Atmalı Local Products Marketplace Creation Project” carried out in cooperation with the GAP Administration and Besni District Governorship within the framework of the GAP Integrated Rural Development Program in Atmalı Village, Besni District of Adıyaman.


The Cooperative, which was established for enable women to market the products they produce, initially produced 52 types of products, but today it is transforming the products of 173 producers into value-added products with approximately 70 types of products and generating approximately 17,500,000 TL income with 70 tons of annual sales.


Within the scope of the project, which aims to improve marketing opportunities by transforming the skills of women producing in villages into value-added products, the recognition of Besni has been increased with the support of the GAP Administration.

Multi Purpose Community Centers

The project aims to raise women's awareness, increase their participation in the public sphere, employment and entrepreneurship, develop participatory community development models appropriate to local conditions.


In this context, 13 women's associations and 3 cooperatives were established, 47 centers became operational. Between 1995 and 2021, 50 women started their own businesses and 500 women were employed in different sectors.


The project reached more than 1 million women, became a model both inside and outside Turkey. It was included in secondary school textbooks, was the subject of academic studies and won various awards. It raised awareness on the need to include women in development projects and developed a multi-stakeholder governance model within the development ecosystem.


ÇATOMs were transferred to the Ministry of Family and Social Services in November 2021 with a protocol signed between the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
